Them Harvey Boys- A Five Piece Well Strung Spectacular

Ian and Liam are a father son team. Any of you that may have seen them play as the Harvs or in the band Great will be able to testify to the multiwonderfants of talent that these two get up to. Ian provides cutely cutting mandolin and voice and Liam astonishingly viral guitar and voice.

Stephen ‘Banjovi’ McNally is an East Anglian legend and living proof that there is hope for Thetford. He plays a mean banjo
tune in a style that would fit as easily into The Prodigy as it would the Nashville Bluegrass Band.

Dan Scoggins is a singer, a songwriter and all round jack of no trades never happier than when harmonising and playing
along on some random instrument.

Finally, Phil Wells is the double bass man with a wandering eye, more kaboom for your buck and an unhealthy interest in a chassis, but one of the best lyrical minds.

We all met way over yonder around the folk scene of Diss, and gradually gelled together. In the mid-nineties we enjoyed a regular spell of gigs, tours and albums along with co-founder Mandy Cook. But the years rolled on and the band was rested and only spoken fondly of when we bumped into each other. But it was always there in the back of our minds, unfinished business.
So that is why we are back together. We all have a bit more experience under our belt and we ditched the purely acoustic approach for a full band set up with amps and speakers. This is mainly because we now have the equipment good enough to get us the true sound through amplification. It wouldn’t be too far off to say that we were, and have always been a good time band with Folk, Irish, Bluegrass and Rock sensibilities but the inclusion of our self-penned songs is proving that we can take this thing anyway we want it.

What we are looking for is audiences that want to have fun, promoters and venues that want to put on interesting and original music and fans that enjoy the often hilarious roller coaster rides that they call Them Harvey Boys Live experience.

Fasten your crash helmets, secure your fruit and veg and prepare for an adventure into string theory.
